This blog contains snippets of history from the lives of my ancestors. I have shared them with the idea that their descendants can learn of their lives and benefit from their good examples and character traits.

Firm in the Faith Book
Recently I was able to meet a very distant cousin, Cathryn Harward Hulse. She introduced me to a wonderful book she wrote on her great grandparents, William and Sarah Jane Worsley Harward. William is the younger brother of my Harward ancestor who first came to America, Thomas Harward.
Cathryn has written some about Hartlebury, the town in England in which our ancestors joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, emigrated and came to Utah to join the saints. Much of the book is dedicated to a journal her ancestor William Harward wrote while settling Utah. He was a wonderful poet and collector of poetry including lyrics from his favorite music. It is clear from his doodling thoughout the journal that he was a bit artistic as well. Seeing his command of the English language probably gives insight into the type of education the family received in England either in a formal school or by home schooling.
Cathryn also wrote about my ancestor Thomas Harward and his wife Sabrina Curtis.
For any family members related to either William, Thomas or their sisters Ellen and Sarah [who also came to Utah], I highly recommend looking at this book.
The best part is that you can read it online through a link with the Family History Library: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titledetails&titleno=1688246&disp=Firm++in++the++faith &columns=*,0,0
Enjoy!
